Control Your Time

Time Management 101: Control your time

1. Whatever you do, just do something

Don't leave a project altogether until you finish it altogether.
Never paralyze yourself. (paralysis by analysis sound familiar?)

Start through specification - don't waste your time getting overwhelmed if you have no idea how to start.
Rationalize - my go to technique for starting anything is GTB: google, talk, brainstorm.

(1) google it (2) talk to a colleague (3) brainstorm with an outsider (friend, family member) on the phone

Suggestion: whether you don't know how to do something or think you know how to do something you can do it better - GTB gives you options. Options give you potential. Potential gives you Product.

1. Pareto Rule - 80/20

Interruptions - you pick when to pay attention

Every time you check your phone you loose your concentration. You shift out of right brain mode (the productive you) back to left brain mode.

Anyone anytime can interrupt what you're doing whether its your phone, computer, or friends. Essentially they pick the moments at which you pay attention. LAME. You pick the moments at which you pay attention.
MORAL of the story: It takes three hours to get anything done. (recognize this!) and work with it. PLAN YOUR TIME - schedule your meetings, run your errands, and check your email around 3 hour blocks.
